Whether made applicable as a “manual”, I think it’s quite a compelling read into the elements of our psyche, its limits – and what lies beyond. An icon of s counterculture, Leary tibetanno most famous as a proponent of the therapeutic and spiritual benefits of LSD.

Strikingly cogent and poetically profound, Leary succeeds in an incredible feat – to, at the very least, paint a picture of consciousness and the ego’s drive to understand and validate its reality. But saying that helps one stay calm so they don’t freak out, a risk which happens when certain people get too stoned off psychedelics.

The book was tietano informative, well written and will be very useful in future trips as much of the information was quite analogous to experiences either myself or my friends have had. A wonderful illustration of Americana–take an ancient venerated text the Tibetan Book of the Dead and appropriate it for your own purposes totally unrelated.
